Technical Large Animal Emergency Rescue Webinar

 

March 24, 2022 @ 6:00 – 8:00 pm

 

Dr. Rebecca Gimenez Husted will be discussing how equipment can be utilized and adapted in large animal emergencies.

Join us on March 24 to learn about equipment used during large animal emergencies and how various equipment can be adapted to different scenarios. Case scenarios will also be discussed and followed by a lengthy question and answer session. For first responders, this is an excellent opportunity to learn from Dr. Rebecca’s expertise.

The webinar will be recorded and shared with registrants.

Small-Scale Swine Webinar Series – In Partnership with AB Pork

 

Alberta Pork Producers, Alberta Farm Animal Care, and Prairie Swine Health were proud to bring this Fall webinar series focusing on small-scale pigs.

Geared towards first time pig producers or those interested in starting a small swine operation and featuring Dr. Kelsey Gray of Prairie Swine Health, this webinar series covered the following topics:

Introduction to Small-Scale Pigs – Wednesday, August 18th – 7:00 PM MST

Breeds, Behaviours, and Handling – Wednesday, September 1st – 7:00 PM MST

Feed, Water and Waste – Wednesday, September 15th – 7:00 PM MST

Preparing for Winter – Wednesday, December 8th – 7:00 PM MST

New Transport Regulations Webinar feat. CFIA

 

AFAC is working with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA)  to deliver a free webinar series on the updated humane transport regulations. Each workshop is targeted to a specific livestock industry, and a CFIA representative will be presenting at each workshop with an extensive question and answer period following.

Advanced Chicken Care workshops

 

Along with faciliatator and resident chicken-expert Cassandra Kirkpatrick, AFAC is proud to bring another series of workshops for those interested in poultry. With multiple workshops being planned, attendees can learn about how to prepare their small flock for Western Canadian weather, take the Introduction course for any permit requirements, as well as dive into the wide variety of breeds and how that plays into flock behavior.
