Canadian Livestock Transport
Certification Program

The Canadian Livestock Transport (CLT) Certification Program is a comprehensive standardized training course and support service for livestock truckers, shippers and receivers that is recognized throughout Canada and United States. This program was first started by Alberta Farm Animal Care in 2007 but has since been transitioned to the Canadian Animal Health Coalition. The program is led by an industry initiative to address the need for increased accountability and improved handling practices in livestock transport.

  • Courses are avaliable for: cattle/sheep, hog, equine, and poultry

  • There are online or classroom based courses

  • All courses require re-certification every three years

Course fees are:

  • 1st species module $375 (per driver) PLUS applicable HST/GST

  • 2nd additional module $150 (per driver) PLUS applicable HST/GST

  • 3rd additional module $100 (per driver) PLUS applicable HST/GST
